Old Turn Junction
This was originally known as "Deep Cutting junction" and was where the original main line of the BCN split into branches to its two termini at Gas Street and Newhall Street.
In this photo we are emerging from the Oozells Street Loop, which is the original main line. Almost straight ahead in the Newhall Street Branch which now ends at Cambrian Wharf, and Farmer's Bridge Junction, the start of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. On the right is the Gas Street Branch, which now connects with the Worcester and Birmingham Canal. Out of shot on the left is the later straightened main line.
