Lapworth

The down-hill view from lock 21. Just visible in the distance is lock 22 on the route to Stratford-on-Avon. On the left a barrel-roofed cottage, of the type traditional on this canal, flanks the entrance to the Lapworth Link. The was created in recent years as an alternative connection to the Kingswood Branch, mainly to save two locks' work for boats travelling between the GU and the southern Stratford. I'm not sure whether it is or isn't a re-opening of an earlier connection. The facilities point we were heading for is between the cottage and the distant lock.
