Stoke Bruerne bridge

Stoke Bruerne bridge seen from downstream. The double arch dates from a 19th (or very early 20th?) century project to double the locks here with narrow ones alongside the broad ones, as was done on the stretch from the Great Ouse valley up to the Tring summit. There is no evidence (as far as I know) whether the project on the Stoke Bruerne locks was ever completed. The arch now in use is the one that was added.
