Monkey Marsh lock, Thatcham
This was one of the last locks on the Kennet to be restored. It was derided at the time as "the astro-turf-sided lock" because the restorers had copies the shape of a turf-sided lock in concrete and clad it with artificial grass, which didn't last. SInce natural vegetation has taken over, the copy is a bit more realistic.
