Salford JunctionThis is a four-way junction. It started when the Birmingham & Fazeley at this point was joined by the BCN's Tame Valley Canal, a northern by-pass route for avoiding the congestion of the canals in Central Birmingham. Then the Warwick Canals built their Birmingham & Warwick Junction Canal (now part of the GU) to connect to the same point to give them access to the Tame Valley. Above the canal junction is "Spaghetti Junction" on the road system. |
