Crofton engine pound
The pound below lock 59 (shown here) is at the same level as Wilton Water. The reservoir is out of shot on the left. From there, sluices (see the next picture) let water into the pound, from which the pumps on the other side of the canal pump it up into a leat that takes it to the summit above Crofton top lock. The engine house is on the right of this picture.
