Crofton Engine HouseHere water was pumped from the reservoir at Wilton Water up to the summit level. The engine house contains two restored beam engines, one of them the oldest working one anywhere. Nowadays they are only steamed on special exhibition days and the day-to-day pumping is done by modern pumps. |
