Lower Foxhangers lockLower Foxhangers is the bottom lock of the Devizes flight. At this time the lock had a problem (since repaired) which meant that BW had to work boats through it singly. This meant that it was passing twice as many lockfuls of water per day as the rest of the flight, so the large pump on the right of the picture was in use for back-pumping. The quad-bike on the left is the lock-keepers' transport up and down the flight. |
