Chillington WharfThis is one of the many canal/railway interchange basins that were a major feature of the BCN from the middle of the 19th Century. This one had a canopied basin (later two) with railway tracks either side. Only one basin now remains. It was originally built by the Chillington Iron Works and later operated by the LNWR. The complex is a listed structure and there have been various proposals from time to time to restore it. |
