The Bratch

The three locks at the Bratch are the most famous example of not-quite-a-staircase, with short pounds connected by culverts to sideways extensions.

Since the date of this picture the bridge and lock-keeper's office have been stripped of their whitewash and display their natural brickwork.

That's Peter on the bridge with a video camera. I don't know what became of the footage he shot.
