The Wildfowl Trust, Slimbridge
What was then the Wildfowl Trust, now re-named as the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, was created at Slimbridge by the naturalist and painter Peter Scott, who lived aboard his narrowboat Beatrice on the canal while he was building the reserve.
