Most of the locks on the Upper Avon were built in new locations and named after benefactors of the restoration programme. This one is at Stratford-on-Avon.

The unusual ground-paddle gear is old Thames gate-paddle gear (which became surplus when many of the Thames locks were mechanised) mounted sideways.
