Old railway bridge

The railway bridge that used to cross the estuary here, from Sharpness to Lydney was partially demolished in 1960 when two barges collided with it in fog. It was abandoned, and its remains were demolished a few years later. All that remains is this pier between the canal and the estuary and the foundations of some of the other piers, which can be seen at low tide.
