Boats in the museum armThe boat further away looks like a fairly ordinary motor narrowboat. I think the semi-sunken one is probably a "Hampton Boat". These were built longer and wider than standard narrowboats to trade on the long lock-free Wolverhampton level of the BCN. It may well have been sunken deliberately to preserve its timbers. |
