The Commandery

This is an interesting group of buildings, some of them from the fifteenth century on a site (by lock 3) which started life as a monastic hospital, later dissolved by Henry VIII since when the site has had various uses, including a military HQ and a college. It is open to the public.

Peter is working one side of the lock, watched by passers-by.
