Mile End
The former lock-keeper's cottage at Mile End now belongs to Queen Mary University of London, who have converted it into a post-graduate seminar base for their Humanities Faculty. The conversion involved wrapping a modern extension around two sides of the restored cottage. I was a gust at the converted building's opening in April 2005, and found the architecture exciting and successful.
