We arrived in central London on 23rd
April, about a fortnight before Canalway Cavalcade. We spent some the
intervening time on visitor moorings at Paddington Basin and some at the London
Canal Museum, where I had some work to do. For the rest of the time I was busy
with Canalway Cavalcade preparations. |
CANALWAY CAVALCADE
at Little Venice, Saturday 5th to Monday
7th May 2007.
As usual, Felis Catus III was the Public Address
base for the event, plus this year also the Press Office. I was kept pretty
busy and didn't have time to do much photography.

After Canalway Cavalcade we had to dash up to
Uxbridge, where I was giving a talk to the local IWA Branch. We stayed
there for a few days, then back to Paddington for a few days before heading
north again for the Ricky Festival.
RICKMANSWORTH CANAL FESTIVAL
At the Festival I ran the Boater's Quiz in the beer
tent on the Friday evening and gave some talks on board the floating classroom
Elsdale II during Saturday and Sunday. Unlike the previous year, we
enjoyed some really good weather and a massive public attendance.

We needed to head back to London, where I still had a
number of commitments at the Canal Museum. Out journey as far as Uxbridge was
in company with our friends Roger & Janet on Tarka XII. We spent the
first night at Willow Tree Park to give the cats the chance of a good run
ashore. Then we spent a couple of weeks backwards and forwards between the
Little Venice visitor moorings, Paddington Basin and the London Canal
Museum. |
