Behind the crew member in this picture are the deadeyes which are used to adjust the tension in the shrouds. He is facing the companionway down to what is now the crew accommodation in the former cargo hold. The base of the last is just out of shot on the right, The winch is the brail winch which hauls up the mainsail.
