The Houses of Parliament
They are seen here from the Albert Embankment, with Westminster Bridge just in shot on the right. The presence of the Houses of Parliament arguably makes this section of the Thames the most important campaigning site on the UK's waterways.
The land on which the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey stand was once Thorney Island, formed by two branches of the Tyburn Brook (now turned into underground sewers) which used to meet the Thames separately.
