This lock should not be confused with the one of the same name on the Lee Navigation, about 2 miles away. The buildings alongside the lock are a former stables where the canal company kept horses. Thames lighters working through the Regent's would be provided with horses by the company. They would change horses here, at City Road and at Camden Town.
