The junction with the Hertford Union, a.k.a. Duckett's Cut, which was built in 1830 by Francis Giles for Sir George Duckett (Jr.), proprietor of the River Stort Navigation. This cross-connection to the Lee Navigation is just over a mile long and has three locks. After Duckett became bankrupt, the canal was bought by the Regent's Canal Company. The junction is seen here from the Regents just below Old Ford Lock.
