Soon after the canal was built, this area was exploited for
clay to bake bricks for the expansion of London. When the clay was worked out,
the pits were used as land-fill sites for London's rubbish. More recently the
area was landscaped as a water-side park and the marina built in conjunction
with a housing development. It offers a wide range of services as well as a
trip boat & a good bistro. Click here to visit their web site.![]()
