Carlton Bridge, on the approach to Little Venice, carries the Great Western Road. Boats can moor to the pub's waterside terrace, but in winter the door into the pub may well not be open. The tower block in the background is Trellick Tower, once reviled as one of the worst excesses of municipal high-rise flats, now privatised, refurbished and extremely fashionable.
