The pool which forms the junction between the Paddington Branch and the Regent's Canal is named after Robert Browning who lived for part of his life in a house overlooking it, and first gave the area the name "Little Venice". The bridge in the background of this shot is Warwick Avenue bridge, where the Regent's Canal begins. The first two barges on the left were built in 1935/6 and are thought to be the only surviving Regent's Canal Barges. They belong to Alex and Jan Prowse who run their art gallery business on one of them.
