This photo, taken in 1979 when there was still regular commercial traffic on the Lee Navigation, shows lighters waiting above Bow Locks for the tide. The regular traffic lasted until about 1980. At the time of this picture, the traffic consisted of imported timber and copper ingots upstream, and industrial waste downstream.
