Wildlife on the weir

The Lee is rich in wildlife, as shown here by a heron and a smaller waterfowl (coot? moorhen? dabchick?). They seem here unperturbed by the recent infestation of the lower Lee by Floating Pennywort. This picture was taken on King's Weir, near Lea Bridge at Walthamstow.
