Enfield lock retains paddle gear of the type traditional on the Lee. Sadly the bottom gates are now mechanised instead of being rope-operated as was the norm on the Lee & Stort.
The chap working the lock with us is David Pearce, of St Pancras Cruising Club who, on his n.b. Gnashers II, cruised with Felis Catus II from the Three Mills Rally to the "National" at Waltham Abbey in August 2000.
