Bow Locks

Bow locks

The new flood wall built when Bow Locks were modified to keep the tide out of the previously semi-tidal Bow River section of the Lee Navigation, the Limehouse Cut, Limehouse Basin and the loop of the Bow Back Rivers, and so to cure the problems of siltation caused by the tide. Associated with that work was building this wall along the spit of land separating the Bow River from Bow Creek between the locks & Three Mills, and raising the levels of various other structures. The work was completed by the end of 2000.
