Gravel barge
Colne is one of two new gravel barges purpose-built for the trade in sand and gravel between Denham and West Drayton. It is seen here moored at Cowley. The design has not proved totally successful, and they two barges have been supplemented by lighters with push-tugs, and with traditional narrowboats.
