The junction of Three Mills Wall River (ahead, looking towards the back of the mills) and Prescott Channel (left). This section is fully tidal, and this photo was taken at a fairly high state of the tide. At this point the main flow of the tide and the Rive Lea swings left down the Prescott Channel. Prescott Channel was never a navigation, but was built as a flood relief channel in the 1930s. The high waterway walls of nearly all of the Bow Back Rivers date from the work done under the River Lea (Flood Prevention) Act of 1930. Beyond the junction one can see the moorings (new at the time of this photograph) that have been put in for residential boats. They are now occupied.
