Looking along the singularly-named Three Mill Lane from the direction of Tesco's and the main A102. Part of the House Mill of 1776 is visible on the left of the picture. This is the older and larger of the two mills here, and possibly the largest tide mill ever built. Although and heraldic cartouche on the building dates it at 1776, there is evidence that it was rebuilt shortly after 1800 following a fire. The 1776 building, which replaced an older on on the site, was built by a Huguenot family to serve the gin distilling trade. Next to it, the visitor centre is under construction on the site of the former Miller's House. On the right is the Clock Mill of 1817 (see another picture).
