The head of Bow Creek forms the mill pool in front of the two tide mills. The building in the centre of this 'photo is the Clock Mill of 1817.
The photo was taken during the 1996 Three Mills boat rally. The boats have come off the navigation over the high tide period to raft up across the mill pool for the opening ceremony of the Rally.
At low tide, one can see in the mill pool the remains of the old barge beds, where sailing barges would lie at low tide while loading and unloading.
