Old Ford Junction

Old Ford

Boats entering the Old River Lee from the Lee Navigation at Old Ford Junction, below Old Ford Lock (out of shot on the left of the picture). Thence the Lee Navigation heads north via the 1767 Hackney Cut, cutting off a loop of the river from here to Lea Bridge. This photo was taken during a cruise (part of the Limehouse Festival in August 1994) celebrating the dredging of the Bow Back Rivers. Most of the boats were on their way to the National Waterways Festival at Waltham Abbey.
