The back of the mills, seen from Three Mills Wall River. The House Mill is on the right, with the remains of the sluices that controlled the water feed to the mill wheels visible on the extreme right of the picture. Next to it is the modern visitors' centre (on the site of the former Miller's House). While the frontage of this building onto Three Mills Lane was built as a replica of the original Miller's House, underground pipes & water channels under the back of the site necessitated the light steel-and-glass structure shown. The cupola of the Clock Mill appears from behind the back of the Custom House which is next to the Visitor Centre on the left of the photo.
