This connects the maintained and tidal sections of the Bow Back Rivers, and is seen here from St Thomas' Creek, with City Mill River going off to the left. The gates have been replaced by stop-planks. The moorings by the lock-house, which belonged to a boat club, are no longer in use, not least because of heavy siltation. Now that Bow Locks and other structures in the area have been modified to keep the tide out of what was previously the semi-tidal section, there is hope when the dredging of the "loop" of the Bow Back Rivers is completed (expected in 2003), then this time they'll stay relatively free of silt.
