Lady Dulcia Atkins attended the Garstang Event along with
the Mayor and Mayoress of Garstang a few Councillors and their partners.
Speeches were made by Lady Atkins and the Mayor with a response from myself.
It was a very successful event, with between 40 and 50 Boats
around the Tithbarn area, we filled the Basin and the Towpath. A Press
photographer arrived to the delight of the boaters from which I've had a few
phone Interviews, Front page Press in the Garstang Courier up to now, another
with photos this week.
The Event was well supported by the Lancaster Canal Boat
Club, ACE Boat Club, Lancaster Canal Trust NABO and IWA. Richard Carpenter was
the main organiser for Tarlton and Garstang, Leaflets and Banners were
thankfully provided by him.
