Our SOW Press Liaison Officer
John Slee, working for all the
groups, has been contacted by some of the press asking for reports on the
events planned for Saturday and Sunday. They also want pictures, of course. So
he is asking you to help by supplying either or both as soon as possible
- even while the events are happening if you have access to the Internet. We
have told our contacts where they can find the reports and photos, see
below.
Reports should be posted on the
NABO/SOW bulletin boards for your event. We suggest you check out
how to "add a message". In fact it would be very helpful if you could actually
post a message saying "A report on this event from NN will appear here on
Saturday March 3rd / Sunday March 4th / Monday March 5th" (delete as
applicable). That way both press and SOW will know where to look for reports.
Pictures must be of high quality.
Press photographers will already know this, but they need to be large,
high-definition - jpegs should be fine but they need to be 600KB to 1-2MB, 250
dpi. Please attach a brief caption. These should be posted on the
SAVEOURWATERWAYS Flickr site. This has been upgraded to pro, so we can post lots of
pictures. Organisers will need the site login name and password. These can be
obtained by emailing SOW Press Liaison Officer
John Slee. There are basically
three ways to upload pictures:
- Upload them using this
upload web page
- E-mail them to
this address - see
here for
more details.
- In advance, download "Flickr Uploadr" and use that to
upload your pictures - see
here.
In each case, please add a caption, a brief description,
tags "Save Our Waterways" "March Events" and add the pictures to a set named
after your event (We think we've created a set for every event we know about.)
e.g. Braunston, Leighton Buzzard, Pewsey, Wheelton etc.
TowPath Talk have reserved 2 pages for reports and
photos, and although they know our arrangements and will be watching and using
our sites, if you would like to see your reports in that paper, you can also
send a copy of report and pictures
to them .
Their deadline is Sunday night! If you have any problems,
please let John know asap, and he'll try to help sort them out promptly.
Enjoy the weekend! "The events aren't as important as
the publicity." |
