January brings the snows.
Boatings fit for esquimaux.
Februarys ice and sleet
Freeze the cut and boaters feet.
Welcome March with wintry wind.
Boating sideways is a bind.
April brings the sweet spring
rain, Making boating quite a pain.
Cavalcade comes round in May:
Beer at night and rain by day.
June just rains, and rivers
flood. Towpaths turn to liquid mud.
In July there starts a drought.
Is there water? No, theres nowt.
August brings us to Beale Park,
Every boat there since the Ark.
In September days get shorter.
Boaters drink more ale & porter.
Late Octobers getting
chilly. Wimps think boating then is silly.
Dark Novembers pretty
bleak, Stoppages occur each week.
Freezing wet December then ...
Bloody January again!
